Epidermal Sebaceous Cyst Appearance

Epidermal cysts are firm, dome-shaped, pale yellow, cystic nodules ranging in size from 0.5 to 5.0 cm in size. Cysts are somewhat mobile but are tethered to the overlying skin through a small punctum that often appears as a comedo. This punctum represents the follicle from which the cyst developed. These cysts may be flat or flush to the surface of the skin or elevated well above the surface. In either case, they are easily palpable.
