Skin Cancer Bowen's Disease

Bowen's disease is another name for squamous cell carcinoma in-situ of the skin. It is a full thickness epidermal dysplasia or atypia. Bowen's disease lesions can be found in both sun-exposed and non-sun exposed areas. Ultraviolet light, human papilloma virus and chemicals such as arsenic are all potential etiologies. Lesions are typically slow growing, asymptomatic and rarely if ever pose a life-threatening risk.
