Vascular birthmarks

The most common tumors of infancy are benign vascular lesions referred to as vascular birthmarks. Vascular birthmarks can be divided broadly into two groups: growths and malformations. Hemangiomas are tumors characterized by a growth and involutional phase. Vascular malformations are structural anomalies derived from arteries, veins, or lymphatics or a combination of these vessels. These lectures describe the many aspects of these lesions.
