Atopic dermatitis can be confused with many other forms of eczema and skin disease. Psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, nummular eczema and neurotic excoriation may resemble atopic dermatitis. Patients with scabies can develop widespread eczematous inflammation. Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma especially in the hip areas can resemble atopic dermatitis.
