Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a disease of genetic origin it occurs in 1-3% of the population. The disease can began at any age and the sometimes found in infants. There are many different clinical presentations including chronic plaque psoriasis, psoriasis of the palms and soles, erythroderma psoriasis, pustular psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. There is no predictable course. Some patients clear spontaneously without any treatment but most patients have persistent disease. The symptoms are variable. Some people have no symptoms and others may have intense itching. Psoriasis has a major impact on patient’s lives. Excessive clothing is worn to hide the disease. Medication is only moderately effective and requires a major investment in time and money.
